Springbrook Prairie is a large, open grassland habitat known for its grassland birds in DuPage County. The leader for the trip will be Joe Suchecki who is the Springbrook bird expert and is the long-time volunteer steward and bird monitor for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County at the site.
This field trip will explore parts of this roughly 1800-acre preserve for grassland and wetland birds. Expect to spend 2-3 hours on this walk. Wear field shoes and clothes appropriate for the weather, and use insect repellent since ticks have been prevalent this year and may be present at Springbrook. We will likely go off-trail for part of the trip.
Meet promptly at 7am at the main parking lot for Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve which is on 83rd Street between Book Road and Route 59 in Naperville.
Registration is preferred for this event. If you plan on attending, please email WCAS Field Trip Chair Kara Morales at karamorales727@gmail.com
